How to make Chocolate Fudge
Ingredients:
- 2 x 12oz bags of Chocolate Chips – any kind you like (340g each)
- 2 x 14 oz cans of Sweetened Condensed Milk (396g each)
- 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract (optional)
- 1 Cup of Nuts (optional) – I use Walnuts.
- 10 X 10 Baking Pan
- Aluminum Foil (to line the pan)
- Medium Sauce Pan
Directions:
- Line 10 X 10 baking pan with aluminum foil, smoothing the bottom and the sides as much as possible (it will be the top of the fudge when it is turned over later). Be careful not to puncture. Set aside.
- Slowly heat Sweetened Condensed milk in a medium sauce pan, stirring to prevent sticking to the bottom using a spoon.
- Add Vanilla Extract and Chocolate Chips.
- Stir to combine. Add nuts (optional).
- Stir to combine.
- Being careful – it is hot! – transfer fudge into foil-lined pan.
- Smooth the chocolate as much as possible.
- Let the Chocolate Fudge completely cool (ideally overnight) at room temperature.
- Turn it over on a cutting board.
- Remove the Aluminum Foil.
- Cut into 1-inch squares.
- Finished! Great job.
- Serve and enjoy.
Chocolate Fudge can be enjoyed at any time of the year, of course. In our household we make it usually for Christmas – as a part of our “Christmas cookie spread”. My family likes to have more than just one kind of Christmas cookies on our table, and we all have favorites: my husband enjoys the Mocha Circles, Meringue Cookies and Glazed Mocha Snowflakes as much as he loves the Rum Balls. As for me, I love everything chocolate. I was always partial to the Rum Nut Chocolate Cups and the Window Christmas Cookies. They remind me of my childhood and of those wonderful times when I was helping to my mom make them before Christmas.
Feel free to try other our old family recipes, that were tested and perfected for generations. I sincerely hope that you will enjoy these incredible Christmas desserts as much as we do. Let me know in the comments sections what you think and enjoy your Chocolate Fudge!
