Grilled Cheese with Cranberry Sauce, Ham, and Turkey

Grilled Cheese with Cranberry Sauce.

There’s something truly special about a grilled cheese sandwich — golden, crispy bread giving way to warm, melty cheese. But when you add brie, cranberry sauce, and layers of ham and turkey, this comforting classic becomes something extraordinary.

This sandwich captures all the best flavors of a festive meal in one easy-to-love bite — creamy, savory, and just a little sweet. The cranberry sauce melts into the brie, creating a luscious, tangy layer that perfectly balances the richness of the meats. Whether you make it with holiday leftovers or fresh ingredients, it’s a quick and elegant meal you’ll want to enjoy all year long.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe:

Ingredients (2 sandwiches)

  • 4 slices of good-quality bread (such as sourdough or rustic white)
  • 4–6 oz brie cheese, sliced
  • 2–4 tablespoons cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices turkey
  • 2 tablespoons butter or mayo, softened

Instructions

  1. Spread a thin layer of butter (or mayo – crates crunchy crust) on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side, layer brie cheese, ham, turkey, and a spoonful of cranberry sauce.
  3. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered (or mayo) side facing out.
  4. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook each sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  5. Slice and serve warm — ideally with a side of mixed greens or a warm soup.
