Chocolate Croissants — EASY Recipe

I have a confession… this recipe isn’t made from scratch. But you know what? It doesn’t matter, because it’s so good that people keep asking me to make it again and again. Honestly, it’s a crowd pleaser every single time. The best part? These Chocolate Croissants are unbelievably easy to make!
Croissants are one of the world’s most beloved pastries — buttery, flaky, and utterly irresistible. Originating in France, they’re traditionally made with layers of dough and butter that create a light, airy texture. Whether enjoyed plain, filled with chocolate, or topped with powdered sugar, croissants bring a touch of elegance and indulgence to any meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 tube Pillsbury Crescent Dough
- Nutella (about 1 tablespoons per croissant)
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
- Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Wire cooling rack
Instructions:
- Prepare the dough
Heat oven to 375 F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Open the tube of Pillsbury Crescent dough and carefully unroll it. Smooth it out gently so it lays flat without tearing. - Add the filling
Place a dollop of Nutella in the center of each triangle. - Seal the edges
Lightly wet the dough edges with water. This little trick helps seal the pastry so the filling won’t leak during baking. - Bake
Place croissants on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 13–15 minutes, or until they’re golden brown. Let cool on cooling rack. - Make the drizzle
Melt chocolate chips and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second increments, stirring between, until smooth. - Decorate
Place the chocolate mixture in a small zip-top bag, cut a corner, and drizzle over cooled croissants. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

🥐 Croissant Fun Fact #1
Did you know croissants didn’t actually originate in France? They were inspired by the Austrian kipferl, a crescent-shaped pastry that dates back to the 1600s. When bakers in Paris put their own buttery, flaky twist on it in the 1800s, the modern croissant was born — and it’s been stealing hearts ever since! 💛
🥐 Croissant Fun Fact #2
The word croissant means “crescent” in French — named after its iconic moon shape. 🌙
🥐 Croissant Fun Fact #3
It takes over 50 layers of dough and butter to make a traditional French croissant. That’s where all the flaky magic comes from! 💛
