Chai Latte (Creamy Café-Style)

A Chai Latte is a smoother, creamier take on traditional Masala Chai. Made with strongly brewed spiced tea and topped with steamed milk, this version feels indulgent yet comforting — just like your favorite coffee shop drink, but made at home.
Perfect for slow mornings, afternoon pick-me-ups, or a cozy treat without leaving the house.

- 1 cup water
- 1 cup milk (whole milk recommended)
- 1 black tea bag or 1 teaspoon loose black tea
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 green cardamom pod, lightly crushed
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 2 whole cloves
- 1–2 tablespoons sugar or honey, to taste
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine water, ginger, and spices. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the tea and simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Remove from heat, strain, and return liquid to the pan.
- Add milk and sweetener, heating gently until hot but not boiling.
- Froth milk if desired and serve warm

Tips for the Best Chai Latte
- Use whole milk for the creamiest texture.
- Froth the milk with a handheld frother for a café-style finish.
- Adjust spice levels to your taste — chai is very forgiving.
Variations
- Iced Chai Latte: Chill the spiced tea, then pour over ice and add cold milk.
- Dairy-Free: Use oat or almond milk for excellent frothing.
- Extra Spicy: Add a pinch of black pepper or nutmeg.
