👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over top and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add melted butter, egg, vanilla, and salt. Mix well. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
2️⃣ Knead & Rise
Knead by hand or mixer for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1–1½ hours, until doubled.
3️⃣ Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix pistachios, almonds, sugars, cinnamon, salt, almond extract, and melted butter until crumbly and moist.
4️⃣ Roll & Fill
Roll dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread filling evenly, leaving a small border.
Roll up tightly from the long side into a log.
5️⃣ Shape the Wreath
Cut the log lengthwise down the middle to expose layers.
Twist the two strands together, cut sides up, then form into a circle and pinch ends to seal.
6️⃣ Second Rise
Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise 30–40 minutes until puffy.
7️⃣ Bake
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Brush with egg wash. Bake 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
8️⃣ Glaze & Finish
Cool slightly. Drizzle with glaze and sprinkle with nuts. Slice and enjoy!
